Top No PMO / No Fap Strategies Part 1

#1

1) Raise your benchmark

Don’t signup for the war with the mindset of doing a ‘challenge’, otherwise, you’re already setting yourself up for failure because you think it’s just a short-term thing. “I will do no fap for 90 days!” , “I will do my best to survive this war”, “I will try to surpass my previous streak” these are all weak statements. What you need to realize is that you must give up PMO for life! not just for a specific number of days. Instead say “I’m no longer associated with PMO”, “I’m not interested in indulging in Porn anymore”, “PMO is not in alignment with my highest potential”, “I’m not settling for mediocrity anymore". Statements like these imply permanence, it transforms your entire personality. Then as a side-effect of becoming a whole different person, you’ll completely delete all of your porn videos/materials/associations from your life. If you’re unable to make such a personality shift, then it means you’re not ready yet and may need to hit rock bottom before you’re intrinsically truly ready to give it up for life.

2) Perspective A: Strive for 90!

When it comes to hardcore addictions, 90 days seems to the minimum abstinence time period required to reboot/rewire your brain. Getting a 90-day streak does not guarantee that you’ll never relapse again because there are many who relapse even after years of abstinence. However, achieving a 90-day streak will give you momentum and confidence to believe in your discipline. The first 90 days are always the hardest and it’s a true test of your endurance, focus, and patience. If you’re able to accomplish this goal, then you’ll be significantly stronger and wiser to take on greater challenges of life. So place close attention to the first 90 days of this journey and treat each day with a high level of seriousness so that you can eventually move from conscious incompetence to unconscious competence.

2) Perspective B: Don’t count the days, Make the days count! (Recommended)

If you really care about the days you collect or care about reaching a particular streak, then strive to achieve a 12-year streak. A streak so massive that it’s almost trivial to count the days. Maybe you can celebrate a one year anniversary of becoming PMO free, but it’s not worth spending your mental energy on seeing how far you’ve come when you’ve already made the personality shift. Counting the days will most likely increase your likelihood of relapse because it means you’re always thinking about your addiction and as a result you’ll get tempting thoughts more often. How come you never count the number of days you’ve been free of an addiction you’ve never had? maybe you’ve never been addicted to cocaine, so how come you never care about your No Cocaine streak?
Live as if you’re not associated with PMO anymore. If you don’t think about it, you won’t relapse.

3) Use the No PMO War to surpass urges

I know that making a total personality shift is easier said than done. On a weekend when you’re alone in your home, if a random thought of your past porn fantasy occurs, you might get an urge and easily throw away all these strategies and give in to the ocean of pleasure and relapse, maybe even binge relapse to the point that you’re completely drained physically and mentally and still not stop there until you’ve damaged your body and your life…

The No PMO war is a form of mental insurance/accountability that’ll keep you strong during those times when you’re alone. When you’re an active duty soldier in the war, you know that your team depends on you. You know that when an urge occurs, you’ll surpass it for the sake of standing strong for your Civilization, and for your Empire.

4) Respect your Life Force

This is for all the men. PMO is not like all the other addictions like alcoholism or smoking. You must realize that it takes a really long time to create a healthy semen in your body. A lot of micronutrients get used up in the process and a lot is wasted away when you ejaculate. What’s the point of eating healthy and taking supplements when you’re always draining away your semen? You’re never giving yourself a chance to improve your health by always ejaculating. Learn about brahmacharya and Taoism. There is a reason why there are thousands of men who report gaining many physical and mental benefits from long-term celibacy. The best medicine you need to heal your body and the best nootropic/drug to enhance your brain power is already within you.

5) Live like a Spartan Warrior

You’re already aware of all these self-improvement activities you know you should be doing. Start with a daily mediation routine, there’s a reason why the majority of top pro athletes and CEOs have a daily mindfulness practice. Once it’s part of your routine, add another positive habit. This will put you on an upward spiral. This is how you gain ’superpowers’, not by sitting in your room all day obsessing over your nofap streak so you can brag about it on the forums. Suffer in silence, enjoy improving yourself, and let your actions speak louder than your words.

6) Setup your environment for success

Addictions are usually a consequence of unfulfilled higher values. If your life was amazing, filled with joy, hobbies, family, friends and fulfilling relationships, perhaps you never would have gotten addicted to PMO in the first place. So work towards building that ideal life. Find a career that you can be passionate about and dedicate yourself to be the best at it, push your comfort zone by meeting new people regularly to build your social circle, travel to a new city/country, keep your home neat and clean, cut off negative relationships with friends/family and instead build relationships with those that inspire or bring joy to your life, take up a hobby/sport, work with a counsellor/spiritual guru to learn about yourself etc. Basically let your day to day life be so fulfilling that you’d never think of indulging in addictive behaviors.

7) Keep a journal

You can choose to follow any template you wish, just the act of putting thoughts on paper can help you make better decisions in life by organizing all the random thoughts in your head. Studies have shown that writing things down instead of typing has a much better impact on your memory.
If you have goals and a vision for your life, then use your journal to track your daily performance. Write down and evaluate your performance everyday by grading yourself. How was your morning routine, did you wake up on time, did you go to bed on time, how was your sleep quality, did you stay away form tempting situations, how was your energy level?, how was your diet yesterday?, what will you eat today for optimal health and energy?, how was your fitness routine?, any habits you successfully executed or failed to execute?, if you relapsed, then what caused it?, what key insights did you gain from your performance yesterday that you’ll use to be better today? etc.
Think of yourself as a video game character in an RPG, the actions that you take on a daily basis are either leveling up your character or regressing it. It’s important to track how you’re leveling up in Mind, Body, and Spirit.

What gets measured, gets managed.” - Peter Drucker

.

Finally, I know that you’ve probably already heard about these strategies before. It’s always easier said than done… You might still relapse after reading this. Maybe you’ll give this a shot and follow it diligently for a few days but you might get tired of it eventually and give up. I know very well what it’s like to be trapped in this cycle for years, but when you fall off track, remember that you’re only human, you’re not a robot. You’re not a failure if you relapse. There are many out there who aren’t even attempting to fight. The fact that you’re here, means that you’re not willing to accept mediocrity like the majority of the population. You’re here because you’re striving for greatness, you’re here to take on a journey as difficult as climbing Mt Everest (if not, more) to see a view that only a small percentage of people have ever seen. Even kings and emperors have failed when it comes to conquering their lust and their minds. So cut yourself some slack when you stumble or fall. You may have lost some progress you’ve made, but, you’ll gain a lot of wisdom about yourself and your life.

Don’t fear failure. — Not failure, but low aim, is the crime. In great attempts it is glorious even to fail.
