Guys,
There's a thing of counting days on nofap-or not. There are "cool" guys who say-I don't count days, it's not about it, I make the days count etc.
I also thought like that, the fact is I relapsed every single day. Maybe that strategy is good when you aren't addicted and you have tons of fun and friends in your life.
Having a counter gives you the awareness of progress or not, it's like a map. If counting the days makes people relapse, why do they reach 90+ days?
I'm a huge fan of counting the days, relpase reports where you see how much you REALLY fapped. It's like an alcoholic who realises "holy crap, I've drank 27 beer this weekend, I need to quit". Otherwise you don't get the shock and impulse to change, you treat PMO like it's some harmless habit, not a real addiction that causes most of modern day problems-loneliness, depression, divorces, lonley parents.
I've been telling this to everyone: STOP COUNTING DAYS!
From my experience - counting days is counter-productive.
Read this link to learn about my journey to escape from porn, by God's grace, and the system which I developed for that purpose. https://www.conqueredself.com/wars/no-pmo-war-xxxix/topics/good-luck-and-read-my-system-to-escape_from_porn

Anyway back to counting days:
Think of yourself as someone who has escaped a prison. Usually, prisoners count the number of days they were incarcerated.
They'd say something like "I was in prison for 4 years man - 1493 days to be exact. Tough times!"
.
.
However, they don't count the days after they've been freed.
If they're on temporary parole, only then they count the days after which they have to return.
.
.
.
So if you count the days that you're clean, then you're automatically wiring your mind to think that the relapse is right around the corner. That this current escape from porn is just some temporary relief.
Instead, stop counting days - understand that keeping yourself free from porn isn't your full time job. You shouldn't be forever intensely focused on this. Being free of porn is your normal state of life.
.
.
.
If you have to so intensely focus to keep yourself away from porn, then it still controls your very being and you're still stuck in the prison - you never got out. So your streak means NOTHING.
.
Just like how when you're stuck in prison - you can never do anything productive for society, same way if you're still mentally stuck on defending yourself from PMO urges - you can never accomplish anything in life - your entire day is wasted on it.
.
.
.
Best thing to do is: Live your normal life without porn. Focus on your self improvement. Being on NoFAP is like learning to drive a car. Yes it's a useful skill for daily life, but it's not your full-time job so don't obsess over it.
.
Yes you must focus on it initially while you learn driving.
But once you've reached a certain level of proficiency - to be able to drive safely in most circumstances - then you must stop focusing on it and instead focus on the important aspects of life.
.
Remember - nobody ever bragged by saying "I've been driving to office and home for the last 10 years - I'm so great at driving!"
You'd scoff at that boast by saying "Dude - it's just driving. No big deal. Even illiterate people can do it. It's not Rocket Science."

Some additional points:
.
Anyway, what are you going to get after reaching a certain number of days of NoFAP? Is your life going to be automatically transformed?
.
.
Being on NoFAP alone doesn't earn you a medal.
Whatever transformation that you desire must be accomplished by you.
.
.
Make the days count - do something great in these days that you couldn't do when you were stuck on PMO. Then talk about that accomplishment here - that's an achievement about which you can be proud and happy.
.
.
Winning 10 wars on NoPMO (or any video game) doesn't mean anything if you haven't accomplished anything in the real world.
.
.
So in the context of NoFAP, I suggest not bothering with counting days or celebrating streaks.
.
.
.
That's the long and short of my opinion on this matter.
But if the method of counting days helps you - then well and good. Go for it.
@MasterPablo
Also, counting days is a symptom of the willpower method.
You're basically pushing your willpower to the limit before snapping. Today it's 15 days. Tomorrow it's 30 days. That just indicates two things:
You have become desensitized to porn, and your willpower has improved (both minimal).
But your habit remains. Your life transformation will be minimal, and you'll never permanently escape from porn. Or maybe you would, if you were to live 1000 years.
.
.
.
Because when using willpower method - you have the wrong goal. When using the willpower method - you keep measuring your progress through counting days. So extending the streak becomes your goal. But that's not the true goal!
The TRUE GOAL of the NoFAP journey is to fully live your life without being encumbered by this vile addiction.
I would like to add a nuance. If you count days just so you can reward yourself by watching porn when you reach your goal (e.g.100 days), that's not a good long-term strategy. It works just like nutrition. If you follow a diet to get 6-pack abs for the summer, you might achieve it, but once you go back to your old habits, you'll lose all your gains. Instead, you should choose a diet that you enjoy so you can follow it forever and keep your gains permanently. Same thing applies to porn. At one point, not watching porn needs te become your new lifestyle.
You don't need to worry, whenever you want to check your days, just log in to this site and it will tell you your level. Other than that, try to fill your 24 hours with striving for your dream/goal
1) No Porn (or Porn substitutes), No Masturbation / No Fap, No Edging, No Peeking. Intentional indulging in any of these during this war will disqualify you from daily 'Check In'.
2) Report Casualty or 'KIA' immediately if you break Rule 1. All soldiers abide by a strong code of honor. Honesty and humility are important virtues that are necessary for this path of self-improvement.
3) Show respect to all soldiers, allies and opponents. Do not provoke anyone to relapse, doing so will result in an immediate ban of your account.
