It is the end of the brief cherry blossom season in Japan. The Japanese are hastily making their ways to parks with their friends, families and coworkers to enjoy a little 'hanami' (cherry blossom viewing) by drinking and eating under the beautiful pink blossoms. But this post isn't really about that. I just thought it was interesting.
The important thing I want to share before the shitshow hits full force this weekend is a cool Japanese piece of writing that my wife shared with me the past year while I was complaining to her about not being able to get myself write regularly (which I now know is partly due to my PMO habits). I really like the message and it sort of woke me up, so here it is:
===============================================================
English (translation):
Different ability results from different effort.
Different achievement results from different feelings of responsibility.
Different character results from different hardship.
Different judgment ability results from different information.
If you're earnest, wisdom follows.
If you're half-hearted, complaints follow.
If you're uncommitted, there are only excuses.
I do with conviction, therefore I can do almost anything.
I do with conviction, therefore anything is interesting.
I'm doing with conviction, therefore someone will support me.
