Rat in a cage

The Mechanism: The rats learned to press a lever to receive a tiny electrical shock directly to this area of the brain, causing massive, repeated dopamine releases.

The Addiction: The stimulation was so rewarding that the rats abandoned all other behaviors. They stopped eating, drinking, and sleeping.

The Result: The rats would press the lever continuously—sometimes up to 7,000 times an hour—until they collapsed from exhaustion or died of starvation and dehydration.

^^^This is what my life feels like.

Please: Don’t give up. Do what you have to do, do the hard work. Do it now.

From what I remember reading in a study similar but with regular water and cocaine water, when the rats were alone without much all to do, this was the inevitability…. But when put in an environment with other rats, play areas, other stimulus etc they didn’t even bother with the cocaine water and just lived their life with other fulfillment, this was a while ago I had heard this but…whatever they may be for you, I hope you find more good things- you can do this.
I get it and what frustrates me is, despite saying what I just did- I have a lot of good I’m fortunate to have but yet I have chosen pmo over it- detoxing and finding enjoyment in simpler things had been hard, but it’s coming along finally. Hell if I can get 4 days clean you can do anything you set your mind to 💪
I believe in you warrior.
