Easy peasy summary

I'm halfway through Easy peasy to quit porn, and I'm taking notes because this reading made me realize many important things. I realized that my relapses to PMO are caused, among others, by Because of my wrong assumptions.

I want to share with you my conclusions and thoughts after this reading, so that you can take advantage of it.

1) Our brains are not evolutionarily prepared for simulators of the human experience as powerful as porn. If it were otherwise, we would have much more developed reward centers in the brain. So viewing pornography is neither natural, nor healthy, nor normal for us. You can live your whole life without watching porn, and it will be a happy life. Moreover: it will be a life without the burden of watching porn, so all the better.

2) The brain shows you what you don't have (eg apartment, career, partner, car etc.) so that you can strive for it. He forces behavior on people, acts as a tool for survival. When you become addicted to PMO, you disrupt your natural mechanisms of pursuing goals that are important to you, and you don't have the strength or motivation to get what you want.

3) By PMO, the brain becomes addicted to getting immediate reward. PMO gives you NOTHING CONSTRUCTIVE, VALUABLE in the long run. Deferred gratification, i.e. work on a goal, task, project that will require sacrifices, sacrifice, effort, but in the end brings much greater long-term benefits, gives much better results. Therefore, it is better to build healthy relationships or work or learn something than to satisfy yourself right away.

4) When dopamine receptors are deactivated in response to frequent and prolonged spikes in dopamine, our brain does not sufficiently absorb the normal doses of stress-relieving chemicals. So PMO does not de-stress, but INCREASES STRESS, does not fight boredom, but CAUSES IT. By stopping PMO, you are not giving up something of value, but freeing yourself into a destructive disease.

5) PMO is causing unnecessary stress. If you think you need it and have a hard time living without it, then your brain only wants to KILL THE FEELING OF PMO-INDUCED HUNGER. Hunger you would never have had if you hadn't started PMO. The same mechanism occurs in drug addiction.

6) PMO damages the nerves rather than relaxing them. PMO doesn't fill the void, but it creates that void. PMO does not de-stress, but creates a stressful situation.

7) Edging causes pain, irritation and inflammation to the body and brain. PMOers aren't stupid people but unhappy people without PMO. Addiction is not because you do something because you like it, but because you have a hard time being happy without it.

8) PMO doesn't help with your sex life, but it destroys it. It represents a supernatural and distorted attitude towards real sex. It destroys masculinity and natural de-stress mechanisms.

Don't just take advantage by reading the summary, guys! Read the book yourselves! It's an eye opener and the best method I know of to end this addiction once and for all!

I have an edited version (corrected grammar and spelling, a few more knowledge points) and posted the link to it somewhere earlier. If you want, I can share it again here.

@Mop1989

You're right. Please share, let as many young men as possible be aware.

I wrote my notes here for my own motivation and for other people who may just maybe they start their adventure with no pmo.

Excellent summary! I've read the book as well and you did a great job showing some of the main points. Just keep recommending it to others and encourage them to read it for themselves!

@BlackDragon777 As I've said in the other post, this book is what you want to read additionally to being on the CS platform: https://tinyurl.com/freedomfrompornbook
