Your experiences with EasyPeasy Method? (Based on Allen Carr's Easy Way)

First off, if you haven't read the EasyPeasy Method it's a quick Google search away and is a very persuasive and motivating resource for quitting porn, and you should check it out.

A few months ago I read the EasyPeasy Method online, and since then I wrote the following things every morning in a diary:

A list of reasons that PMO is bad/unhealthy A list of reasons that being PMO free is beneficial A reminder that I would never use PMO again and an encouragement to myself

I had great results for about a month without tracking my streak for as long as I was doing this, but I eventually stopped as it became tedious (I know this was stupid in hindsight) and relapsed a week or so later as a result. I feel like if I'd have stuck through the tedium I'd still be on that streak.

What are your experiences with similar methods? Do you guys have any tips that may help achieve success next time trying this?

I finished the book in 3 days and joined the discord, it's unfortunate that the NoFap community doesn't acknowledge it but they have very different views on things. My experience with NoFap feels silly now I've read the book. It's a book worth rereading for sure.

I completely agree. NoFap seems to base itself on merely resisting urges, which does not seem sustainable to me. EasyPeasy is more about creating a force of reasoning greater than that of your latent desire, until your mind eventually changes its outlook on PMO. It isn't a magic pill, it still requires diligence (as I learned) but I believe it can actually pay off for me, unlike depriving myself on NoFap.

I read the book.
The knowledge I got from it didn't help with my recovery.

I think the knowledge is only part of the method and not effective on its own; if you are psychologically addicted to PMO, you must repeatedly assert the knowledge to your subconscious mind using affirmations, firstly to reason with thoughts that could lead to relapse, but secondly to develop a subconscious voice that is actually helping you to reason with the desire automatically. Eventually this reasoning, along with abstinence and other physical control methods, will wear out your addicted mind and it will think about PMO less and less. I am only speaking theoretically but I will see where this method takes me, in combination with the Metascript Method by Universal Man.

It’s all about consistency and self discipline. I lost my streak so many times over the last year but I never give up. In the beginning I held the streak for 5 days, then went to 10 days, then 1 month recently it was 2 month. As long as you keep consistent one day you will overcome it

@Bigmama123 will overcome, if a person actually starts to work on something fascinating in their life. This supplies brain with it's needed dopamine source 🙂
